The press maintains two publishing avenues. The first is an eponymous journal that gathers together established and emerging scholarly voices grappling with revolutionary cultural practices of years past and synthesizing those that animate the present. Meclander Books is more squarely focused on young artists. Aiming to bring analytical language to such practices, in these volumes we ask scholars to situate emerging practices historically and theoretically for the first time. In place of reviews and other types of short-form writing, these books offer writers a chance to engage with the artwork and critical questions that define their own moment in a serious, rigorous manner.
